Food Focus: Napa Cabbage
Napa cabbage, also called Chinese cabbage, is one of my favorite greens to eat this time of year. It’s actually at the peak of its season. It is more delicate than more common forms of cabbage and is very quick and easy to cook.
Cabbage is a cruciferous vegetable (as is broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts) and these types of vegetables contain phytonutrients that signal our body to disarm free radicals – resulting in a lower risk for prostate, colorectal, lung, and breast cancer.
